A hopeless alcoholic commandeers a young Mexican woman’s plan to kidnap her estranged son, contriving to demand two million dollars from the boy’s rich grandfather, but her plan, like her life in general, doesn’t run at all smoothly, in Zonca’s painfully authentic feeling thriller, which can boast of a harrowingly dexterous performance from Swinton.
