Whilst participating in a French-Portuguese co-production being filmed in Portugal, members of a film’s cast and crew take a journey into their past, visiting the hometown of the director’s youth and the ancestral home of the lead actor, unveiling a rich tapestry of personal, familial, and national history, in de Oliveira’s gently humorous, quietly moving, and painfully yet beautifully human film.
