Cliché-subvertingly perceptive and unsentimental, this circle-of-life drama – in which two dysfunctional siblings (the excellent as ever Linney and Hoffman) band together to help deal with their estranged, dementia-suffering father, when his common-law-wife of twenty years dies – is a funny, moving, and painfully real-feeling universal tale of familial responsibilities.
